Wrinkle Relaxers additional information

Commonly treated areas include vertical frown lines, horizontal forehead lines, eye wrinkles, nose wrinkles, lip lines and down turned mouth corners, although this list is not exhaustive. The smoothing effect is visible in 7-14 days and will last for 3-4 months, dependent on skin type and lifestyle factors.

TGA guidance states that a doctor must review the patient, take a full medical history and examine the areas to be treated before prescribing the medication, and that the treatment should be conducted in a clinically appropriate environment. I see and treat all my patients myself.

Wrinkle relaxing is minimally invasive and well tolerated with little downtime. Very fine needles are injected into areas to be treated and a topical anaesthetic cream is also available if needed. I advise not rubbing or touching the areas or doing vigorous exercise for 4 hours after treatment. However, you can go back to most usual activities immediately.

The cost will vary from person to person but, as a guide, the cost is $5-$15/ unit of product, depending upon the product used.

Treatment of frown lines will average between $150-$300

Treatment of forehead lines will average between $100-$250

Treatment of eye wrinkles will average between $100-$250

While the injections produce a marked improvement to wrinkles and skin texture, patients should stick to a regular schedule of treatments, along with using a tailored skincare regime, to get the best long-term results. Discontinuing the treatment will not increase the wrinkles you have but you will revert back to your previous skin appearance.
