Women’s Health and Family Practice

I love looking after families through the joys and challenges of growing up and growing older.

I take the time to listen, getting to know you and your family. I find the best solutions come from hearing your whole story and working together to keep you mentally and physically well.

When you face life’s bigger challenges, I act as your tireless advocate, guiding you through the maze of WA healthcare options to get the very best advice and treatment for every individual, no matter their age, sex or financial circumstances.

Women’s Health

Keeping women well is at the heart of my practice.  Women of all ages trust me with their healthcare and often bring their whole family to see me.

  • Screening tests, including cervical smears, breast examinations, osteoporosis screening
  • Family planning, including implanon insertion
  • Pregnancy care and new baby checks
  • Hormone replacement therapy.

Family practice

In Family Medicine, I treat you as an individual, but in the context of your family and community. Keeping you well depends on building a long-term, trusting doctor-patient relationship that ensures I know you and your family well enough to leave no stone unturned in understanding your health and finding the treatments that are right for you at every stage of your life.

I love getting to know my patients and feel privileged every day to have the chance to make a difference. My practice spans prevention, health promotion, early intervention for high-risk patients and management of acute, chronic and complex conditions such as ischemic heart disease, diabetes, asthma and other airway diseases, and chronic kidney disease.  I am passionate about bringing you the most up-to-date treatment options and health advice.

Regular Check-Ups
It is always better to prevent than to cure, so I offer my patients a range of check ups, almost all of which can be bulk billed because they are Medicare funded.

Younger women

As a mum to 2 daughters, this is a topic close to my heart. We all live in a society in which young women are exposed to conflicting societal and media messages regarding weight, values and health choices from a very early age.

Adolescence and young adulthood is also a time of great change. Young women take on new roles and responsibilities and often renegotiate relationships with adults and peers. They experiment with things symbolic of adult life. Healthy risk-taking can be a positive tool in a young person’s life for discovering, developing and consolidating her identity.  I am committed to supporting young women during this important and challenging time.

Mature women

I enjoy looking after my more mature population’s physical, emotional, sexual and mental wellbeing. I have a holistic approach, integrating lifestyle, concerns and desired outcomes with your pertinent medical and family history. People who feel positive about aging and take responsibility for their health tend to live longer, happier and healthier lives and I am committed to helping you achieve this.

Screenings

I offer all kinds of health screenings and can advise on what is appropriate for you. Screening tests find diseases early, which makes them easier to treat.

Just some of the screenings I perform regularly include:

  • Healthy Kids checks
  • Over 75s health checks
  • Skin cancer checks
  • STI checks
  • Pregnancy checks
  • Sensory checks (vision, hearing)
  • Screening for high blood pressure
  • Screening for diabetes
  • Screening for heart disease
  • Screening for thyroid disease
  • Screening for Osteoporosis
  • Screening for Bowel Cancer
  • Screening for Cervical Cancer
  • Screening for Breast Cancer

Is screening right for me?
